School From 1 June 2020

Set out below is important information, key times, documentation and procedures from Monday, 1 June 2020. You are advised to read this to ensure you are fully aware what will be happen.

Harris Primary Academy Kent House have returned the following groups of children - Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Key Worker/Vulnerable Children.

***If you are bringing your Year R or 1 child to school for the first time please could you give us at least 24 hours notice in order that we can prepare for your child returning - Thank You***

Making School Safe:

  • Children will return in smaller class sizes (maximum of 15)
  • Children will be kept with the same pupils and teacher(s) – known as a ‘bubble’ or ‘pod’
  • Children will be not be required to wear school uniform
  • Children will not be permitted to bring school/book bags from home
  • The children will have their temperature taken upon arrival at school, by staff dressed in PPE
  • Teachers will actively remind children of the social distancing regulations where appropriate
  • Lunchtime will consist of the pupils eating lunch at their own table, followed by exercise with pupils from their own class/bubble
  • The school will provide an enhanced packed lunch to all pupils, they will not be permitted to bring their own lunch to school
  • Children will be provided with their own water bottle; they will not be permitted to bring their own water bottle from home
  • School start times are staggered (listed below)
  • School end times are staggered (listed below)
  • School will end after lunch on Fridays (see table below), due to statutory non-contact time for teachers
  • High contact areas will be cleaned throughout the day
  • The school office will only be accessible via phone or email, no visitors (including parents) will be permitted on site at all
