Community Champions
At Harris Primary Academy Kent House, community is at the heart of everything we do. Our Community Champions programme reflects our strong belief that children thrive when they feel connected, valued and empowered to make a positive difference.

Community Champions is a whole school initiative that brings pupils together to explore important values and real life issues, helping them develop empathy, confidence and a strong sense of social responsibility. Each half term focusses on a carefully chosen theme that supports children’s personal development alongside their academic learning:
- Autumn 1: Diversity
- Autumn 2: Charity
- Spring 1: Inclusion
- Spring 2: Science and the Wider World
- Summer 1: Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Summer 2: Celebrations
These themes are revisited throughout every year of a child’s journey at HPAKH, ensuring that values such as inclusion, kindness, respect and wellbeing are deeply embedded. By the time our pupils leave us, they have a clear understanding of these important concepts and the confidence to act on them in their everyday lives.
Rather than being taught as isolated lessons, Community Champion themes are woven meaningfully into our curriculum and wider school life. While each term has a key focus, these vital areas are explored continuously, allowing children to develop a deeper understanding over time in a thoughtful and age appropriate way.
We are proud to nurture children who are not only successful learners, but caring, responsible and active members of their community.
